Discover the Spirit of Japan

By March 27, 2013Miscellaneous

Have you ever been to Japan? We haven’t been there but it’s one of those countries on the top our list of places to go. From the snow festival in Sapporo to Mount Fuji, from the enchanting island of Okinawa to the Shikoku Pilgramage — there are many great destinations to visit. But I think more than the destinations, we look forward to interacting with the Japanese people. And interacting with the Japanese people means…

FOOD

We want to discover the spirit of Japan through the food that the people eat! Especially things like sushi and Susan’s favourite, RAMEN!! In fact, since we had ramen in Auckland in the middle of last year, Susan and I have been on a quest to discover the best ramen in most cities we visit. Nothing has yet come close to that one in Auckland, but we are sure when we get a chance to visit Japan, the ramen will be out of this world. That’s the spirit of Japan for us. Ramen. And food. And the people in general!

The Japanese Tourism authority have a fantastic video about discovering the spirit of Japan up on YouTube and it gives you a great feeling about the country. Check it out!

We were sponsored for this post and we hope to one day travel to Japan. Ayo Japan Tourism! Haha! Have you been to Japan? If so, how did you discover its spirit? If not, how do you normally discover the spirit of a place?

I’ve been to Japan couple times before. Japan is amazing, nothing come close to this beautiful country, the people and culture. You have to visit Hokkaido if you love ramen.
Thanks for linking my Japan post here 😀
