Backpackneymoon video number 11 – The West Coast Glaciers

By July 27, 2012August 24th, 2012New Zealand

Do you know what a glacier is? Have you ever seen one? A glacier is a large river of ice that flows very slowly down a mountain valley and is caused by large amounts of snow being compressed on top of a mountain and it accumulating for many years. And then it slowly crawls down the side of the mountain as ice, scraping away at the side of the valley. In New Zealand they have many of these glaciers and we visited a couple. Check out the West Coast Glacier section of our backpackneymoon adventure!
